Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, France

This is one of the Grande Dames of France. The hotel that little girls dream about staying at once they’re rich. The cream puff to end all cream puffs. This is it. Is it worth the hefty price of $2400-5000 PER NIGHT? Yes. Because if you can stay here, you should stay here. Simple philosophy. It does sort of remind me of what Jennifer Aniston’s house should look like: everywhere mirrors reflecting white and beige curtains, wallpaper and carpet, blooming orchids, polished marble and silver, (and a smirk). I will definitely have a sly smile on my beautiful face when I’m staying here.

It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced–or seemed to face–the whole external world for an instant, and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself, and assured you that it had precisely the impression of you that, at your best, you hoped to convey.
